I am sharing this as the Ep is being released released via Dusty Pop very soon.
We shot the whole video in our hometown of Northwich, Cheshire, UK.
The idea behind this video was to give thoughtful insight in to the hard work an artist undertakes whilst pursuing his/her passion. We decided to show short clips of the journey one must take to perfect their art going through painful practice routines or demoralising times. We used a painter, an actor, a dancer and of course us the songwriters!
All the actors cast for the video are in fact authentic to their given roles.
With the three narratives we were aiming to demonstrate the frustration of an artist – either getting lost on their creative path / not receiving any sort of recognition / not having the necessary surroundings or tools to progress.
The line “you can keep me going for a lifetime” I often sing to my guitar when performing live thinking this is all I need to carry on doing what I do. The enjoyment of it!
In the writing of the song we wanted to keep the lyrics as accessible as possible so people could use the song for their own situation. For me it is very close to home and about having the people you love around you as much as possible.
I feel precious about the line “things are gonna change, i’m not good at changing” as I think most people can get a handle on this feeling and have experienced changes in their life that were out of their control.
We hope you like the song and video which is featured as the title track off our debut EP. Feel free to pass it around…
THANKS SO MUCH TO JAMES KENNEDY AND ALL AT TRIFECTA FILMS FOR BRINGING OUR SONG TO LIFE WITH THEIR INCREDIBLE VISION AND IMAGINATION.
