RAINTOWN
+ GARY QUINN + RICK KEVILL
“Based on their album, I expected the live Raintown experience to be enjoyable. But I was hardly prepared for the show-stealing triumph that they put on at the Stage on Lower Broadway in Nashville. Their performance was high-powered, charismatic, and a joy to behold. “ Pat Geary – Voice of Country: Nashville – CMA International Broadcaster Award 2003
Multi award winning and history making duo ‘Raintown’ – from Glasgow – are fast gaining the reputation as one of the hottest Contemporary Country acts in Europe. Fusing their passion for Country Music with the eclectic musical influences of their homeland, Raintown are continuing the tradition of exciting new music to emerge from Glasgow.
“Raintown are one of the few UK artists whose music can be played seamlessly alongside the big Nashville-produced country hits of today.” Allan Watkiss- CMA International Broadcaster 2010 – BBC Radio Sheffield
Their dynamic male/female harmonies are delivered with a passion and style that demands attention and with their band they bring a charisma and infectious energy to their live performance, that it easy to see why they are creating such a buzz. Many seasoned commentators are calling them ‘the UK’s answer to Lady Antebellum’ and with comparisons to Sugarland and Little Big Town, Raintown are redefining our expectations of what to expect from a UK Country Music act.
They recently performed at the inaugural Country2Country Festival at the O2 Arena in London with headliners Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood. They have supported US Country star Brantley Gilbert, appeared at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival and supported Scottish super group ‘Wet Wet Wet’ at their 25th Anniversary gig on Glasgow Green.
“Wet Wet Wet had all agreed that Raintown were the real deal as far as music was concerned. The feedback from our own fan base has been brilliant and their live performance on the night was outstanding.” Tommy Cunningham – Wet Wet Wet
