MAMMA FREEDOM – New single to be released in October

Manchester funk/soul septet MAMMA FREEDOM have announced that they will be releasing a new single in October in the build up to the release of their second album in 2016.

This will be the only Manchester appearance for a while so certainly not one to be missed.

Dark and heavy one moment, calm and soothing the next, the music of Mamma Freedom takes its listener on a journey through genres. The band covers funk rock, hip hop, the blues, and everything in between, crafting an experience unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Hailing from Manchester, UK and with an influence reaching all the way to Hollywood, Mamma Freedom has exploded on to the scene with a unique blend of influences ranging from Sly & The Family Stone to Led Zeppelin. In the past 18 months the band has put out their first album, ‘Preachers and Criminals’, and have composed the music for the Apple iStory The Gift, earning worldwide recognition and cementing Mamma Freedom’s place as one of the premier new bands of this decade.

Produced by Alexander Johnson and managed by Charles Carlini, Mamma Freedom consists of Alex’s brother JV on vocals, Christopher Calcott on lead guitar, Richard Redfern on Keys, Gareth Bourne on bass, Dan Hudson on drums, a brass section of Robert Marsh and AJ Dawson. The band will be touring the USA and the UK throughout 2013-2014.
